Due to the latest government advice, we have felt it our responsibility

and duty to suspend our takeaway service.

As soon as we are given the go ahead, we shall resume normal business.

When Communities Come Together……….Amazing things happen!

21/03/20 We have had lots of volunteers posting their forms through doors, thank you for keeping me up to date on your progress. Some volunteers may have not been contacted yet, but you will be needed at some point. I spoke to a lovely gentlemen today who has lived on Benty Heath Lane for 45 years, he wanted to know if he could order his dinner, but had never heard of Pollards Inn?!?! We are delivering him a menu and will keep in contact with him, thank you so much to the volunteer who delivered this. An excellent example of how communities coming together really does do just that!

A huge thank you to all who attended the meeting here at Pollards on Wednesday evening. We came up with so many brilliant ideas and all left feeling more positive by involving ourselves in the process. The main points agreed were as follows:

Tel 0151 327 4615 – Cara Kimpton will distribute information

  • We are compiling a register of volunteers
  • We will allocate a geographical area of homes each volunteer will be responsible for.
  • We will create a Facebook or Whatsapp group for communication
  • We shall deliver a ‘Postcard’ to each of the addresses we are allocated, offering our help; we will become ‘buddy’s’ and provide support as required.
  • If volunteers become ill we will redistribute their area and in turn support them
  • Mental health support for lonely/isolated villagers is paramount

We had so many wonderful offers of dog/cat homes, dog walkers a Sainsbury’s shopping service, storage facilities, organisational help and of course, volunteers to connect with villagers.

You can still help! Please email your name / address/ mobile number and email to info@pollardsinn.co.uk.

We shall endeavour to have all current volunteers allocated to their areas plus a redesigned ‘Postcard’ to download and print out by end of play Friday. If we haven’t been in touch with you by Saturday, please contact us again.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You
